Young Athletes Match at Newport 6th May 2007

36 athletes from Exeter Harriers competed in the first UK Young Athletes match of the year. For some of the athletes this was their first club competition. All athletes rose to the occasion and competed well achieving a high standard of performance despite a very strong head wind down the finishing straight. The match was against Newport , Yeovil and Plymouth. The final results are still not available but during the match Exeter were neck and neck with Plymouth at the top of the leader board.

We entered relay teams in all of the girls events but just the sprint relay teams in the boys. Stunning runs on the last leg of the sprint relay in the boys U15s and mens U17s saw Alec Crowter and George Robinson just clinch a higher place on the line.

Individual performances that met the Athletics weekly standards:

U15 Boys         Alec Crowter 100m 12.5
